Environmental Policy

Sumico Lubricant Co., Ltd. manufactures and markets the lubricants that is mainly industrial oils and greases, and they play an important role in every industrial machinery fields, by reducing friction which lead to improved fuel consumption, reduced noise and vibration and prolonged life of parts of machines.
As a member of the Sumitomo Metal Mining Group, which has overcome environmental problems for over four hundred years in their mining/refining business, Sumico Lubricant Co., Ltd. succeeds to spirits and wisdom of our seniors and contributes to the reduction of environmental impact through the lubricant business. Furthermore to pass down the beautiful and comfortable earth to the next generation, we will engage environmental conservation activities voluntarily and continually with establishing the following environmental policies.

1.

We shall set up an environmental goal and target and tackle environmental protection activities through participation by every employee as much as technically and financially possible, and work to maintain and improve environmental performance by regularly reviewing the goal and target.

2.

We shall comply with the laws, regulations and ordinances provided to protect the environment and other requirements that we agreed upon.

3.

We shall continually improve the environmental management system and work to improve quality of the environmental protection system and prevent environmental pollution.

4.

We shall promote activities with priority on the following items, regarding activities in the divisions of production, development and administration of lubricants.

(1)

We shall work for sorted collection of wastes and increase reuse and recycling.

(2)

We shall promote energy conservation activities, such as saving electricity in production equipment and incidental facilities.

(3)

We shall work to reduce environmental load substances (chlorofluorocarbon, lead, etc.)

5.

We shall make this Environmental policy thoroughly known to all the employees and also disclose it to the general public.
