Start of production and sale of lubricants mainly composed of MoS2
  October The company name was changed to Super Run Industrial Co., Ltd.
  December Operation of Mitaka Factory in Tokyo started
1962 January Technical Tieup with ROCOL (British)
  February The company name was changed to Sumico Lubricant Co., Ltd.
1963 April Osaka Office opened (currently Osaka Branch)
  April Nagoya Office Opened (currently Nagoya Branch)
1964 May Sapporo Office opened
  July Kokura Office opened (later relocated to Hakata in Fukuoka-shi as current Kyushu Office)
  December Hiroshima Office opened (currently Chugoku Office)
1965 January Tokyo Office opened (currently Tokyo Branch)
1967 June Operation of Yokohama Factory started (relocated from Mitaka)
  August Sendai Office opened
1974 March Head office was relocated to the current location of Nishi-shinjuku, Shijuku-ku, Tokyo
1977 January Operation of Mie Factory started (relocation to the current location)
  December Yokohama Factory was closed
1998 September Mie Factory and Quality Assurance Department registered ISO 9002 certificate
1999   High-performance soap base grease factory (the Second Factory), and white synthetic grease factory(the Third Factory) built on the Mie Factory site
2001   Lithium complex soap grease, white synthetic grease, and fluorinated grease released
2002 January Mie Factory and Quality & Environment Control Section registered ISO 14001 certificate
2003 July System changed from ISO 9002 to ISO 9001: Year 2000 version
2004   Release of penetrating lubricant antirust spray "Lubrico 420"
2005 December Dry film lubricant / aerosol products(the Fourth Factory) built on the Mie Factory site
2006 July Shanghai Representative Office opened
2009 August SUMICO LUBRICANT TRADING (SHANGHAI) CO.,LTD was established
